The photography experience

The Experience

A walk-through of what booking with me actually looks like

I believe a beautiful photography session is the result of a beautiful process. Long before you arrive at the studio and long after you leave I'm working to make sure this is one of the most thoughtful experiences of your motherhood journey.

Here's what to expect, step by step.

01

Inquire

It begins with a single email

You fill out my inquiry form (it takes about three minutes). Within 24 hours, you'll hear back from me with a link to schedule a consultation call and my full pricing guide. No pressure. No automated funnels. Just a real conversation between two humans about what you're hoping to create.

02

Consultation

Let's talk it through

We hop on a call usually 15 to 20 minutes, by phone or Zoom and I learn about you. Your due date. Your other children, if any. What you imagine the photographs feeling like. Whether you're a 'studio person' or an 'outdoor person.' What's keeping you up at night about all of this. By the end of our call, I'll know exactly which collection is right for your family and you'll know whether I'm the photographer you want to work with.

03

Booking

Reserving your spot

If we're a fit, I send over a contract and a retainer invoice (50% of your collection total). You sign electronically, the retainer is paid, and your session is officially on my calendar. From this moment on, I'm your photographer. Email me anytime about wardrobe, about your due date moving, about a 2am question your sleep-deprived brain comes up with. I'm here.

04

Pre-Session Styling

So you don't have to figure it out alone

About a month before your session, you receive a styling guide tailored to your specific session type maternity, newborn, or birth with photographs of clothing palettes, fabric textures, and outfit combinations that photograph beautifully. If you'd like to use my client wardrobe instead of (or in addition to) your own clothes, we'll plan it together. For maternity sessions, you're welcome to come in and try things on before the session day.

05

Session Day

The fun part

You arrive at the studio. The space is already warm, soft, and ready for you. There's tea or coffee or sparkling water. Music if you'd like it, silence if you'd prefer. We move at the pace your body and your baby need. There is no rush. There is no hurried 'let's get through this' energy. We laugh. We pause when we need to pause. By the end, most of my clients say it was the most relaxing thing they've done all month.

06

The Gallery

Your photographs, two weeks later

Within 2-3 weeks of your session, you receive your gallery a private online collection of every fully edited, high-resolution image from your session. You can view, download, share, and order prints directly from the gallery. Most clients see their gallery for the first time and immediately call their partner. Some cry. (I think most cry, honestly.)

07

Artwork

From digital files to something you can hold

Once you've had time to live with your gallery, I'll reach out to help you turn your favorites into something physical: a fine-art album, a framed wall piece, a series of prints for the nursery. This part is optional but I deeply recommend it. Files on a phone are precious but they get lost, devices break, hard drives fail. Printed images are the photographs your great-granddaughter will hold one day.
